We say this with all the love in the world: there are a few things that would make everyone's life easier if more clients knew them upfront. Not because people are doing anything wrong, but because event rentals work differently than most things you shop for.
Book Earlier Than You Think
Popular rental pieces; throne chairs, specialty glassware, beaded placemats, disco balls go fast. Especially for spring and summer weekends in Chicago. Our rule of thumb: reach out at least 6-8 weeks before your event. 10-12 weeks for large events or holiday weekends.
Your First Quantity Estimate Will Change
Most clients come to us with a rough guest count that almost always shifts. What matters is that you give us a confirmed headcount at least 10-14 days before your event. Do not wait until the week before to tell us you went from 80 guests to 120.
The Delivery Fee is Part of the Budget
Rental pricing is just the cost of the items. Delivery, setup, and breakdown are separate and they are real costs. Our delivery fees start at $200 or 20% of your subtotal and increase based on distance and size of the order. Plan for this from the beginning.
Renting is Almost Always Smarter Than Buying
You pay a fraction of the retail cost. You do not have to store anything. You do not have to clean anything. And you do not end up with 80 folding chairs in your garage that you used once.
Layers Make Everything Look Expensive
A bare table is a missed opportunity. A linen, a charger, a placemat, a centerpiece, each layer adds depth and makes the overall look feel intentional and luxurious. Even two layers makes a dramatic difference.
Round and Rectangle Tables Feel Completely Different
Round tables create intimacy and allow everyone to see and talk to each other. Rectangle tables feel more structured. Neither is better.... they are just different. Think about the feeling you want and choose accordingly.
One Statement Piece Beats Ten Forgettable Ones
A Snow Throne Chair. A disco ball. One dramatic centerpiece. One moment that makes people stop and reach for their phone is worth more than twenty small touches nobody notices.
Read Your Rental Agreement
Know the cancellation policy before you sign. Know the late fee. Know who is responsible if something gets damaged. We want everyone going into the agreement clear on what they are signing.
Photos of Your Space Help Us Help You
Take photos of your venue before your consultation the room dimensions, lighting, existing decor, ceiling height. This lets us make specific recommendations that actually work in your space. A floor plan is even better.
We Can Source Things We Do Not Currently Carry
If you see something you love a specific chair style, a particular charger finish, a specialty prop reach out and ask. We have a network of trusted vendors and we will do everything we can to source it for you.
"Questions? We are always here."
